Central Admission Committee
The Centralised Admission Committee, known as CENTAC, is not an entrance examination but the centralised admission and counselling authority set up by the Government of Puducherry. It handles registration, merit list preparation, choice filling and seat allotment for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in…
Central Admission Committee exam pattern
CENTAC 2026 admission is based on merit, not on a single entrance exam. Your rank is decided by your qualifying examination marks, and the process varies by course category.
- Engineering (B.Tech): Admission is based on your JEE Main score or Class 12 marks, depending on the college and course.
- Medical (MBBS/BDS): Admission is based on your NEET UG score.
- Other courses (Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, Arts & Science): Admission is generally based on your Class 12 (or equivalent) marks.
After the merit list is prepared, you must participate in the counselling process. Counselling covers 3–4 rounds across all streams, including engineering, medical, dental, pharmacy, and law.
During counselling, you fill in your college and course preferences online. Seat allotment is done based on your rank, your preferences, and the availability of seats.
Confused about which colleges take this score?
A counsellor can go through the accepting list with you — fees, cut-offs and what is still open this cycle.
