1. Accepting these terms

By visiting CollegeHunt on the web or through our mobile app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or app.

2. What this service is

CollegeHunt is a college research and comparison service. We publish information about colleges, courses, exams, fees, cutoffs and rankings compiled from institute disclosures and official regulator sources. We are not affiliated with, and do not act on behalf of, any college, university or examination body unless stated otherwise, and using this site does not guarantee admission anywhere.

3. Accuracy of information

We take reasonable care to keep listings accurate, but fees, dates, cutoffs and eligibility criteria change and an aggregator is always slightly behind. Always confirm details on the institute's or authority's own website before acting on them — particularly before making a payment. If you find an error, please tell us.

4. Your account

Some features (bookmarks, comparisons, saved applications) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Paid features — including counselling services and any recurring plan set up with UPI AutoPay — are billed and processed through Razorpay, our third-party payment gateway. We do not store your card, UPI PIN or bank credentials on our servers; that information is handled directly by the gateway. A recurring subscription continues until you cancel it from your account or contact us to cancel it. Fees already charged for a billing period already delivered are not refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at the time of purchase.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site or app — no scraping at scale, no attempting to break authentication or payment flows, and no submitting false information through our forms (including counsellor callback requests).

7. Third-party links

Pages on this site link to college, exam and government websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of those external sites.

8. Intellectual property

The CollegeHunt name, logo and site design belong to us. The underlying data (fees, cutoffs, rankings and similar factual information) is sourced from public disclosures and official bodies and is presented for informational use; please do not republish our compiled tables wholesale without permission.

9. Limitation of liability

The site and app are provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made based on information found here, including admission, financial or loan decisions. Always verify independently before acting.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. Continuing to use the site or app after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts where CollegeHunt is operated from.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us — name, email, phone number and similar details when you register, bookmark a college, request a counsellor callback, apply through a form, or contact us.

Information collected automatically — pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and similar usage data, collected through standard analytics and cookies so we can see what is useful and fix what is broken.

Payment information — when you make a payment, Razorpay collects and processes your card, UPI or bank details directly. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference ID, not your card number, UPI PIN or bank credentials.

2. How we use it

• To create and manage your account, and to remember bookmarks and comparisons.
• To respond to enquiries, corrections, and counsellor callback requests.
• To process and confirm payments and subscriptions through our payment gateway.
• To improve the site — which pages and tools people actually use.
• To send service messages (for example, a payment receipt or a callback confirmation). We do not send marketing email unless you have asked for it.

3. Cookies

We use cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand site usage in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features (like staying signed in) will not work without them.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who process it on our behalf — for example, Razorpay for payments, and hosting/analytics providers — under their own confidentiality and security obligations.
• A counselling partner or institute, but only when you explicitly submit an enquiry or callback request intended for them.
• Authorities, where required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep account and enquiry data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and accounting purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to close your account, by writing to hello@collegehunt.in. We will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children's privacy

This service is intended for students exploring higher-education options and their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental involvement in the enquiry.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
