About Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test
The test is organised around the method subject a candidate intends to teach. Candidates choose a methodology such as mathematics, physical sciences, biological sciences, social studies or English, answer questions in that subject, and also attempt common sections covering general English and general knowledge together with teaching aptitude, so the paper measures both subject command and suitability for the teaching profession. It is an objective, multiple-choice test conducted in computer-based mode, available in English and Telugu for the sections where a translation applies.
Ranks are prepared method-wise, and seats in the B.Ed. programme, which is regulated by the National Council for Teacher Education, are allotted through the state's web-based counselling to government, aided and private colleges of education. The paper pattern, the subject-wise sections and the marking scheme are given in the official notification issued each year.
