Candidates are generally expected to hold a bachelor degree in agriculture or in an allied discipline such as horticulture, agricultural engineering, forestry, fisheries, food technology, dairy technology or agricultural biotechnology from a recognised university, with the accepted list depending on the specialisation applied for. Students in the final year of the qualifying degree may usually apply on the condition that results are produced before admission. Domicile, category and reservation rules apply because these are state seats.
The minimum marks or grade point required in the qualifying degree, category relaxations, age conditions and the exact list of accepted degrees are given only in the official council notification and information brochure for the year.
