About Dravidian University Common Entrance Test
The entrance test is an objective examination with multiple-choice questions, and the paper a candidate takes depends on the subject or programme applied for. For science programmes, questions are drawn from the relevant science subjects at the qualifying level, together with sections on general aptitude, reasoning and English as prescribed by the university. Candidates choose their subject or programme group at the time of registration, and the syllabus for each group is published in advance.
The test is expected in May 2026 and is held at centres notified by the university. Scores are used to prepare subject-wise merit lists, after which admission is offered through counselling or direct allotment according to merit, the seats available and the reservation policy applicable in the state. Programmes covered include the courses taught at the university campus departments and at recognised centres, as listed in the notification.
Question counts, duration, marking scheme and the weightage given to qualifying examination marks are stated in the official prospectus.
